What Is Love?

A friend of mine (Nan Akasha) asked me to answer this question, "What is love?"

Definitely not one of those questions I can rattle off a zippy quip to.

In fact, rather than telling you what I think love is, I thought it would be more fun (and accurate) to receive the answer fluently.

So here goes:

What is love?

Love is a yummy experience.

Love is a heart connection between two spirits -- known or unknown.

Can you love someone you don't know? Of course you can. Haven't you ever had the experience of seeing someone's picture and resonating with it immediately? It might be an adorable puppy, a laughing baby, or a starving child in Africa. You love them instantly -- sure, you might not admit it, but that's only because your ego would have you believe that it's not possible to love at first sight.

But truly, from Divine perspective, it is easy to see that Love actually occurs BEFORE first 'sight.'

Because we are all connected -- we are all one -- what's not to love? The parts (physical and otherwise) about ourselves that we feel unable to love in ourselves and others are certainly NOT unlovable. A simple shift in our perspective is enough to help us see that.

Love is ever-present, whehter or not we are consciously aware of it or not. Why? Because of the heart connection that each of us shares with all energetic beings -- people, animals, the earth, computers, lint, you name it, we're connected to it.

Look at you sitting there, reading this -- can't you see how very surrounded by love you are!

If you're answering "no" then take a moment to sit back, relax and let yourself become consciously aware of your heart connection to everything around you right now.

Imagine rays of light pink-colored light reaching out from your heart to everything around you -- the chair in which you sit, the floor beneath your feet, the ceiling above you, your monitor, your phone, your desk, your cat.

Now imagine these rays of light reaching into your heart from everything around you.

Can you feel the heart connections?

Everywhere you go, everywhere you are, I am there with you. Our hearts are forever connected.

Not bound together as in chains or obligations, but spiritually connected as in the spider's intricate web, delicate yet strong, moist with fresh dew and glistening in the radiant morning sun.

==END OF COMMUNICATION==

Wow. That was certainly a lovely one. I hope you enjoyed the experience, and I look forward to seeing what Nan puts together in the "What is Love" segment of her blog!

QoD: Where have you been resisting feeling a heart connection in your life? Where are you looking at love as an obligation or a binding chain as opposed to a strong yet delicate fiber? What would you have to shift to be free from this old perspective that no longer serves you?

Go for it!

(And if you would like some help, I invite you to schedule private coaching sessions with me. Well worth it, according to all of my clients!!)
